Stuck Notes Privacy Policy

Stuck Notes (“Stuck Notes,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is a local Mac notes app from Syllabi LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app uses and how that information is handled.
Stuck Notes is designed to keep your notes on your Mac. It does not require an account and does not sync your notes to our servers.
1. Information We Collect
### Notes and app data stored on your device
Stuck Notes stores the content you create locally on your Mac, including note text and formatting, board and desktop placement, colors and style preferences, archive/restore state, and related app settings.
This information is saved in a local database on your Mac. We do not receive a copy of your notes.
### Optional backup files you create
If you use Export Notes, Stuck Notes creates a backup file that you choose to save. That file stays under your control. If you later use Import Notes, the app reads a backup file you select.
We do not host, receive, or process those export files unless you separately send them to us for support.
### Purchase and App Store information
If Stuck Notes is distributed through the Mac App Store, purchase and billing are handled by Apple. We do not store full payment card information.
### Device and diagnostic information
Stuck Notes does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. Apple may provide limited crash or diagnostic information through standard App Store / developer tools if you install a distributed build and diagnostics are available. That information, when present, is used only to improve reliability.
2. How We Use Information
We use local app data only to provide Stuck Notes on your Mac:
- create, edit, organize, archive, and restore notes and boards
- show Board and Desktop note surfaces
- remember app settings such as the last surface you used
- support export and import backups you initiate
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your note content for advertising.
3. No Account and No Cloud Sync
Stuck Notes does not require an account.
Stuck Notes does not provide cloud sync as part of the current product. Your notes remain on your Mac unless you export them or otherwise copy them yourself.
4. Security
Your notes are stored locally in your Mac user account’s application data. Access is protected by your Mac login and macOS protections such as the app sandbox.
No method of electronic storage is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your Mac account secure and for safeguarding any export files you create.
5. Third-Party Services
The current Stuck Notes Mac app is local-first and does not send your notes to Syllabi cloud services.
If you contact support by email, the message content you send is processed through our support email systems so we can respond.
App Store distribution, if used, relies on Apple’s store and billing infrastructure.
6. Data Retention
Local notes remain on your Mac until you delete them in the app, remove the app data, or erase them by other means on your device.
Export files remain wherever you save them until you delete those files.
If you email us for support, we retain support correspondence only as long as reasonably needed to help you and maintain ordinary business records.
7. Your Choices
You can:
- edit or archive notes and boards in the app
- export a backup of your notes
- import a backup you previously exported
- delete local app data by removing the Stuck Notes data folder on your Mac
- uninstall the app
Because Stuck Notes does not sync notes to Syllabi servers, deleting local data on your Mac removes the notes we would otherwise have no copy of.
8. Children’s Privacy
Stuck Notes is not specifically directed toward children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. International Users
Stuck Notes stores data locally on your device. If you contact us for support, your message may be processed where our support systems operate.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If material changes are made, we may update the effective date above or provide additional notice where appropriate.
